A Liberian Dinner Party Experience with Little Liberia, 2022 Hatch Detroit Winner

Prepare to fall in love with Ameneh Marhaba, who wants to share her love for food with you.

Effortlessly earning accolades for her Liberian cuisine, Ameneh just beat out 350 small businesses to be crowned the 2022 Comerica Hatch Detroit contest winner. Ameneh took home the $100,000 grand prize … to support her dream of opening Detroit’s first Liberian restaurant.

As a preview of what’s to come from this new-to-Detroit cultural experience we are thrilled to bring the Little Liberia to BasBlue!

This menu is a love letter to generational family recipes and includes:

Tripoli Bites: Assorted vegetables roasted in olive oil and a blend of herbs, served over homemade hummus, topped with a pinch of feta and black olives.

Monrovia Wings: Liberian-style spicy chicken wings in exotic spices, slathered in a spicy peanut butter sauce. And lastly roasted on low flames to perfection.

Liberian Mloukhieh (Jute Leaves): Liberian-style Jute Leaves, cooked with well-seasoned chicken and red palm oil (made in Liberia). Served with white jasmine rice.

Coffee Cake: Mouthwatering coffee cake topped with a biscuit crunch and bits of coffee bites.

Fruit platter: assortment of fruits served family style after dessert. 

Tickets for this event are $125 per person which covers the associated food expenses. Members may bring guests.
